Peace Fam Bams!

My name is Najah Muhammad.  I am a Cleveland, Ohio-based Certified Holistic Health Practitioner specializing in Health & Wellness Coaching, Reiki and Relaxation.

After a master’s degree in Public Administration, a few “promotions” and a good thirteen years in non-profit community health, mostly at the administrative support level, I decided it was time for a career shift. While my professional life was doing something pretty far removed from blossoming, there’s also the personal side of life – or what I like to call – where it gets good. ::sips tea::
Around 2012 I had this eye-opening, soul searching wake up call. My self told myself, “this is your life, Booski. You have to live it so you oughta be happy with it.” And myself was like, “Yep.” So, I started being a little bit more intentional. And the things I wanted started coming my way.

In late 2012, under the guidance and instruction of Reiki Master Teacher, Rev. Navasha Daya, I was attuned and trained in Reiki, an energetic healing modality that creates balance and encourages relaxation. This amazing training affirmed my desire for a career shift toward holistic health and opened the door to my seeking more. During that same time I began my education with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) Health Coach Training Program and became a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

While attending IIN, I studied over 100 dietary theories and received guidance and inspiration from some of the world’s foremost health & wellness thought leaders such as Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Bernie Siegel, Dr. John Douillard, David Wolfe, Deepak Chopra and many more.

But then I lost my dad. And my momentum. I never looked at his death as a tragedy but still, it knocked the wind out of me and knocked me off course. It took me a while to realize that somewhere between his passing and the weeks that followed, I fully implemented the art of self-denial. This meant that decisions were suddenly based on (emotional) safety, satisfying persons external to myself to keep “the peace”, whatever that is and just staying in motion. No more purpose. No more drive. Just spinning.

So again, I had to be intentional. Instead of operating from the default setting of “the squeaky wheel gets the oil” I had to once again clarify my dreams and goals and start moving through each day with intention and purpose.

Making a commitment to EXTREME SELF CARE and being open to trusting my body and spirit, giving myself the physical and spiritual foods and love I need daily has truly changed my health and wellness on every level. Becoming a Health & Wellness Coach allows me to make a meaningful contribution to others while utilizing the best of my skills and knowledge in a career that inspires me daily to live a resolute life.

I believe, as many great men and women before me have, that once you make a resolute determination that you will achieve a goal, there is no stopping you –success is certain. #resolutelife #getyolife
